Advantage play is a study term: using information the house already put on the table (the cards that have been seen, the posted rules) plus skill, so the long-run expected value is closer to the player than to a guesser. In blackjack, the two skills underneath it are basic strategy and a count such as Hi-Lo.
Count All Blackjack is a statistics trainer with virtual chips. It does not offer real-money play and does not promise profit. Casinos can refuse service. Hidden devices and cheating are illegal.
What a “player advantage” is
A house edge is the casino’s long-run cut if you play a certain way. An advantage, in textbooks, is the reverse: a small long-run tilt toward the player if rules are good, play is accurate, and you only raise practice bets when the remaining shoe is rich in tens and aces.
That tilt is tiny. It lives in thousands of hands, not one Friday night. See blackjack house edge and odds and variance and bankroll so the word “edge” does not get confused with “I will be up tonight.”
How card counting fits
Counting does not tell you the next card. It estimates composition: whether the leftover shoe is denser in high cards. A positive true count is when textbooks say the math leans player-side; a negative count leans dealer-side. Most hands are still played with the chart.

What advantage play is not
- Not a betting system (Martingale, 1-3-2-6). Those do not change the composition of the shoe. See why progressive betting systems fail.
- Not a guarantee. Variance can bury a small edge for a long time.
- Not a loophole to cheat. Computers, marked cards, and team signaling can be illegal. Using your mind is a different category — and casinos can still bar you.
How to study it here

FAQ
What is advantage play in blackjack?
Using legal information and skill so the long-run math is closer to the player. It is a study idea, not a promise you will win a given session.
Does card counting guarantee an advantage?
No. Accuracy, rules, penetration, and bankroll all matter — and variance still swings. Casinos can change the game or ask you to leave.
